Pacesetters Bible School was launched by Pine Forest United Methodist Church, which chose to create an independent, interdenominational organization and thus invited members of other churches and denominations to become members of the board.

Linda Smith, then Program and Youth Director of Pine Forest UMC was selected as the first board chairperson, and served until August, 1999, when she was replaced by Tom Hunt. Henry Neufeld was selected by the board as the first director, and the title was changed to President with the formation of the corporation in December of 1999.

In December, 1999, a number of other positions were opened up on the board, including a board seat for an interfaith representative who would not be a member of any Christian denomination. That position has not yet been filled.
